Aldi Ardee

Aldi Supermarket in Ardee has integrated a 17.94 kW solar power system in partnership with TRE Energy. This installation comprises 52 high-efficiency 345W panels and is expected to generate 16,783 kWh of clean energy in its first year, resulting in a carbon offset of 5,438 kg annually. Over 25 years, accounting for a yearly efficiency loss of 0.8%, the array is projected to produce 393,025 kWh of energy, leading to a total carbon offset of 127,340 kg, assuming grid CO2 levels remain constant. This successful pilot project was so effective that Aldi has decided to expand the systems to 80 kWp each across multiple stores. TRE Energy has now fitted solar power systems in Aldi locations including Douglas, Ballina, Dunshaughlin, Clonakilty, Caherciveen, Newbridge, Tuam, Ardee, Mountbellow, Killarney, Kanturk, Carrigaline, Cabra, Ballyhaunis, and Athenry.
